Build the English you need to explain roles, share responsibilities, and collaborate confidently in IT — using the grammar and vocabulary that tech professionals use every day.
Explaining plans, responsibilities, and choosing the right tools is a big part of working in technology — but doing it in English can feel tricky, especially when collaborating with a team. This course builds the English needed to describe roles, explain how systems and projects work, and talk confidently about teamwork in IT. Real-world scenarios include planning a sprint, reviewing cloud services, dividing up tasks, comparing project methods, and sharing user feedback. Learners develop relative clauses (who, which, where, when, what) to add detail about people, devices, and processes, and apply verb patterns and modal verbs to express necessity, obligation, and permission. Key IT vocabulary spans terms such as agile, sprint, scalability, breach, debugging, toolbox, and microservices across contexts including cybersecurity, project management, UX/UI design, and software development. The course progresses from A2 to B1 English proficiency and includes 2 vocabulary video lessons, 7 grammar video lessons, 3 reading activities, 9 listening activities, and 20+ practice exercises. Developed in collaboration with OpenEDG, this is part of the English for IT – Basics Learning Collection.
