Gain the confidence to use computers and mobile devices with greater independence and ease — from hardware basics and operating systems through to networking, security, and automation.
Using Computer and Mobile Devices is the second course in the Digital Literacy Learning Collection, developed in collaboration with OpenEDG. You will begin with the basics of computers and mobile devices — including hardware, operating systems, and software — before learning how to download and update apps, connect to the internet via Wi-Fi, cellular data, or Bluetooth, and improve device performance by managing storage, memory, and clearing the cache. The course also covers file management on Windows, Android, and the cloud, as well as trackpad and mouse gestures. Later modules explore how digital devices communicate with each other, network fundamentals, security, automation, and practical problem-solving tips. Content is delivered through interactive practice activities, videos, and how-to guides. Completing all four courses in the Digital Literacy Learning Collection prepares learners for the OpenEDG Digital Literacy Certification.
